Child safety standards
Draft for legal review. This text was prepared for Macver Technology Ltd management and its lawyer. It is not yet in force.
Macver Technology Ltd has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) on GistUp, including child sexual abuse material (CSAM), grooming, sextortion and trafficking.
Our standards
- GistUp is for adults aged 18 and over. Everyone confirms their age when they create an account.
- Strangers cannot reach you directly: first messages arrive as requests, phone numbers are hidden by default, and group invitations from strangers arrive as requests.
- Any account found sharing or seeking CSAM, or grooming or exploiting a child, is closed permanently.
- We report CSAE to the relevant authorities, including the Nigeria Police Force and the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), and to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) where applicable, and we preserve the data we hold for investigators as the law requires.
How to report
- In the chat, tap ⓘ, then Report.
- Choose Something else and describe the problem. Include the last 5 messages so our team can act.
- Or email our child safety contact at [support email].
Messages on GistUp are end-to-end encrypted, so we rely on reports. Every child safety report is reviewed first.
